inaugural . opening . novel . happening . food . event Grand Opening of 5th Outlet of Restoran Sari Ratu @ Dataran Sunway It is truly a day to be remembered for Nasi Padang lovers as Restoran Sari Ratu finally opened its fifth outlet in Dataran Sunway on 7th March 2009. It is graced by representative of Indonesia Embassy, Yang Bapak Tatang Budi Utama Razak and one of the partners of Restoran Sari Ratu, Datuk Shukor Mohamad. “This has given both of our countries a chance to know each other well in terms of culture and cuisine and provide a goodwill co-operation between both countries,” Yang Bapak Tatang Budi Utama Razak said in his speech. He also said that around 2 million tourists from Indonesia had visited Malaysia while 1 million Malaysian visited Indonesia for the past year. He added that Dataran Sunway is a strategic place for Restoran Sari Ratu to expand its business as this area is a growing new city with increasing number of population. In addition, according to Deddy Marizon from Restoran Sari Ratu, this fifth outlet is from the customers’ request due to its popular demand of authentic Indonesia cuisine. “Most of the spices and sauces used in cooking, avocado and eel are imported from Indonesia while we had the top ingredients to prepare the best meal for diners,” he said. He also mentioned that almost 20% of its customers are Chinese while the rest are a mixture of local diners and Indonesians as well. He hoped that the authentic Indonesia cuisine would appeal to wider prospect and also urge them to come and try for themselves as their cuisine is different that the local Malay cuisine. The grand opening saw many friends, families and supporters gathered together to witness the big day for Restoran Sari Ratu. They are also entertained by singers from Malaysia and Indonesia as well. A wide spread of buffet are also served after the launching. Restoran Sari Ratu’s specialties includes the famous Ayam Pop (short form of Popular), Beef Rendang, Dendang (beef tendon) and Ayam Bumbu. There are currently five outlets in Malaysia namely Desa Pandan, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Ampang Water Front, Pusat Bandar Kelana Jaya and the newly opened Dataran Sunway.
