If you doubt the authenticity of the kopitiam, have a chat with owner Nana Tan, who hails from Kemaman itself. This quaint family run establishment is rather new in the market, having to only start its operations late 2008. A firm believer of good food and home styled cooking, Tan whips up a good Kemaman styled meal with the freshest, most natural ingredients she can lay her hands on.

The star of the kopitiam is definitely the Kemaman Nasi Dagang. True blue Terengganu folks would agree that the Nasi Dagang at Kopitiam Kemaman is are real as it gets. The rice is actually a composition of fragrant rice and glutinous rice steamed with herbs such as ginger and onion among others. It is then topped off with huge tuna chucks and drizzled with the spicy fish sauce.

You would taste the fish with every bite but it does not over empower the fragrance from the rice. This delightful dish would make a good alternative for breakfast for those who would like a change from the usual Nasi Lemak.

However, if you still want you Nasi Lemak fix, the Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken would do the trick. The rendang is proudly in its own right, full of flavour and goes extremely well with the chicken. It outdoes by complementing well with the rice and other condiments like the sambal and anchovies.

The Kemaman Mee Siam would be a good choice for those opting for something noodle based. Tan said that the secret of a good mee siam is that the mee siam should be at a ratio of 50% meehun and 50% of bean sprouts. She added that the cili boh used in the mee siam is also made in the kopitiam itself.

The Kemaman Keropok Lekor is great as an afternoon tea or snack. Their keropok lekor is very much less oil as there is little traces of oil found in the keropok itself. Dip it in its specially made chili sauce which is sweet yet packs a punch with oomph of spiciness.

A good cuppa is hard to come by but the Kemaman Kopi is one potent beverage packing with aromatic Kemaman coffee. This coffee is brewed using coffee beans from Kemaman itself. Best drunk black, no sugar or creamer would be able to bring out the best of the coffee other than the original coffee aroma itself.
